UK Study Visa Process

Understanding the UK student visa process is important for a smooth admission and visa journey. Indian students must complete university admission, financial preparation, CAS documentation and visa application steps as per the latest UKVI guidelines

Step 1: Profile Evaluation & University Shortlisting

Step 2: University Application Submission

Submit academic documents, passport, SOP, LOR and English language test scores required by UK universities for admission processing.

Step 3: Offer Letter Received & Credibility Interview

After reviewing the application, the university may issue a conditional or unconditional offer letter containing course details, tuition fees and admission requirements. Some universities may also conduct a credibility interview to understand the student’s academic background, course selection, and study plans before proceeding further with the admission process.

Step 4: Tuition Fee Deposit Payment

Students are generally required to pay the tuition fee deposit requested by the university before CAS issuance. Deposit requirements may vary depending on the university and course.

Step 5: Financial Documents Preparation

Prepare tuition fee payment proof and maintenance funds documents as per the latest UKVI financial requirements. Funds are generally required to be maintained for 28 consecutive days before a visa application.

Step 6: CAS Application Process

After completing university requirements and document verification, the university begins processing the Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS), which is required for UK student visa application.

Step 7: CAS Letter Issued

Once the university verifies documents and financial requirements, students receive the CAS letter containing important visa application details.

Step 8: UK Student Visa Application

Complete the UK student visa application, upload documents, pay the visa application fee and Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS), and book the biometric appointment.

Step 9: Biometrics

Students are required to complete biometric verification at the visa application centre after submitting the UK student visa application and supporting documents.

Step 10: UKVI Application Processing

UK student visa processing timelines may sometimes vary because of high application volume, incomplete documentation, university verification or additional checks by UKVI during peak intake periods.

Step 11: Passport Collection & UK Departure Preparation

After visa approval, students receive passport collection or delivery updates and can begin accommodation planning, travel bookings and pre-departure preparation for the UK.
